Choose contrast before matching shades
High contrast makes the letters easier to spot at a glance. A White, Light Gray or Yellow letter can stand out against Black, Dark Brown, Indigo Purple or Dark Green. A Black or Dark Brown letter can be a clear choice on White, Beige, Sakura Pink or Lilac Purple.
Contrast does not need to be dramatic. The goal is simply to avoid colours that are so similar that the letter blends into the keycap. If you like a soft combination, try one lighter colour and one darker colour rather than three colours from the same depth.

A coordinated combination repeats the same base, keycap and letter colours across the whole name. It is a tidy choice for a longer name or when you already have a favourite three-colour mix.
Individual block colours let each letter block have its own combination. This can work nicely for a short name, initials or a colour theme, but keeping one consistent letter colour can make the finished name easier to read. If you choose several bright colours, repeat one neutral for the letters or bases to tie the blocks together.

If someone has a favourite colour, use it as the base or keycap and build around it. For example, Bambu Green can sit with White and Black, while Pink can be balanced by White and Dark Brown.
